MVNU Shines in National Rankings
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University has recently been featured on a number of national rankings including Money Magazine and LendEDU.com.
Money Magazine ranked the university fourth in the nation for awarding large merit scholarships. Forty-six different colleges and universities made this exclusive list based on graduation rates, the percentage of undergraduate students who receive merit scholarships, and how much of the overall cost of attendance is covered by these scholarships.
The university was also named the 77th best private college and 139th overall college for lowest student loan debt in the nation by LendEDU.com. The study looked at 1,161 schools with MVNU ranking in the top 12 percent of the lowest average debt/borrower overall. MVNU was also the only Nazarene school in the lowest average debt/borrower category in the nation.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by so many different organizations in their rankings the past few years,” commented Rev. James Smith, MVNU’s Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.
“We have been very focused on lowering student costs while maintaining the quality, Christian education that families have become accustomed to receiving at MVNU. Rankings that focus on affordability, value, outcomes and low student debt affirm and recognize our successes. The data really does reveal a powerful story about what is happening here. These are exciting days for MVNU and I am thankful to see us receive this type of wide-spread recognition.”
